I had been wanting to build a guitar looking like it was made from an old Coke sign and thought the beadboard would lend itself to that look. Man, I was right. I had intended to do the full build but had planned to do it with extremely aged hardware (as shown by the neck plate), and a very relic'd neck, but didn't want to alienate potential customers.
The body is a full inch and three quarter and constructed from poplar with a beadboard wainscotting top and back. I wish I had realized this combo was going to turn out so good because I would have chambered the body. The neck and body weigh a hefty 7 pounds.
